Three Lochs Medical is the name for the strategic alliance between the Strachur Medical Practice and the Furnace & Inveraray Medical Practice.
The two practices are separate and independant and continue to use their original practice names.
The strategic alliance name is linked to the combined practice area of the two neighbouring practices which are bounded by Loch Fyne, Loch Eck, and Loch Restin on the Rest and Be Thankful.
The name reminds us that the history and culture of our communities’ are very much linked to the lochs, especially Loch Fyne.
The name also represent that
our vision is not about Inveraray surgery being a branch surgery of a
larger neighbour, as happened to it in 2014, but this is about colloboration between communities of equals.
The team that run Strachur Medical Practice, which has around 1050 patients, has been successful in their application to also run the Furnace and Inveraray Medical Practice, which has around 1150 patients.
We don't want Furnace and Inveraray to be a branch clinic of Strachur Medical Practice (nor the other way around!), but we want to replicate the success of the Strachur Medical Practice in Furnace and Inveraray.
Having a strategic alliance allows us to work together. Rather than one practice "swallowing up" the other practice we are creating a new alliance that the patients of both practices will have equal access to.
